The simple answer to listings that look like they want to hire you for a job from home, but require you to pay money up front, is usually a big, fat NO! Beyond NO, it could also be no way, no how, or no sir. If you are working for somebody, they are supposed to pay you. This is the idea.
And yes, of course, if you are starting a business, you will have an upfront investment. For instance, I am an internet marketer. I need a computer, internet connection, web hosting, and software. Sometimes I also invest in avdvertising or consultants. However, these are investments I choose to make in my business, and not payments I make to somebody for the right to run my business. That’s pretty much between me and my ISP!
A Sample of a Work At Home Advertisement to be avoided. This is a bit mocking, but not so far off.
$10,000 A Month
Like an ATM Machine in Your Home
Help People Be Healthy!
Then when you answer the advertisement, you find that you only need to pay $59.95 a month for a distributor kit, or $129.95 a month for a manager’s kit, or something like that. The company will gladly take your monthly charge on your credit card and send you their over priced product, be it vitamins, cleaning supplies, or the cure to global warming. The idea is you use the product yourself, and then sign your friends up for the same deal. You make a profit and if you still have friends left, they can can sign others up, and you make a small profit on their sales.
It is not my idea of a business to be proud of, and few really make it this way. I suggest finding something you really like to do, or a product you believe in. Then you will be able to put in the hard work it takes to make it.
