Curious About Affiliate Marketing?

The term, affiliate marketing, simply means that advertisers pay to run advertisements on websites. A webamaster will sign up with an affiliate program or affiliate network, and be given a unique code to put on their own website that will display links. Sometimes the ads will simply be text links, and sometimes they will be banner ads or other types of creative advertisements (called creatives).

The advertisements may pay out in different ways:

• PPL - Pay Per Lead means the advertiser will require a potential customer to fill out a form for more information, and so become a sales lead. • PPC - Pay Per Click means that the advertiser will pay for visitors to their own websites. A webmaster will be paid a certain amount every time a visitor to their website clicks through to the advertiser website.
